Conductor
Jeffrey R. Smith is a versatile conductor, arranger, and keyboardist who bridges the worlds of classical tradition, musical theater, and modern media. A graduate of Ithaca College in Music Composition, Jeffrey began his career in New York City as a musical director and keyboardist for numerous Broadway and off-Broadway productions. Today, he is a cornerstone of the Philadelphia music scene, serving as the Artistic Director of the Philadelphia Youth Choral Ensembles (PYCE)—the parent organization of the Emmy-winning, Grammy-nominated Philadelphia Boys Choir & Chorale, the Philadelphia Girls Choir, and the Commonwealth Youth Choir.
Beyond his choral leadership, Jeffrey is the assistant conductor for the Philly POPS and frequently performs as a keyboardist with The Philadelphia Orchestra. His vibrant vocal and orchestral arrangements are regularly performed by major ensembles across the United States. Propelling orchestral music into the pop-culture sphere, he also tours as the music supervisor and principal conductor for the Stardew Valley: Festival of Seasons and Symphony of Seasons concert tours. His global career has taken him to prestigious stages from Carnegie Hall and the Vatican to the Singapore Esplanade, leading international tours across Europe, Africa, South America, and Asia.
