Volunteers serve as our ambassadors providing proactive hospitality to our guests, creating a warm welcoming environment for everyone at Benaroya Hall. Our team strives to maintain the highest standards of service, creating an inclusive and collaborative environment to welcome our community. We believe in the magic of experiencing the arts live, in-person, and that personal connections and curiosity about the people around us enhance this journey for everyone.
Our vision is for Benaroya Hall to be a third place, a vital community center and world-class performing arts center, home of the Seattle Symphony (and so much more!). Our volunteers help us make this vision a reality, serving and celebrating the people who join us as our guest.
We seek volunteers who have a passion for live music, those who demonstrate a commitment to the success of the Seattle Symphony and enjoy meeting other people and welcoming them to Benaroya Hall.
After submitting your online application form, you'll be invited to join us at a Volunteer Open House to learn about current volunteer opportunities. Symphony staff will be present at the Open House to answer your questions and guide you through the next steps, including paying your membership dues and completing the background check process.
Annual dues cover the expenses of running the volunteer organization. All funds directly support the work of the Seattle Symphony.
$15 — seniors (62 and over) and students (21 and over with valid student ID)
$30 — standard membership

New volunteers are required to successfully pass a criminal background check. Please note that the Seattle Symphony does not accept court-appointed volunteers and the minimum volunteer age is 21.
Volunteer Ambassadors serve in two primary areas, as our daytime hospitality team for guests visiting our newly renovated café in The Boeing Company Gallery and other public spaces, and supporting our guest experience team at concerts and events.
Volunteers support our Education & Community Engagement team by assisting with craft prep for Tiny Tots and Family Concerts and working pre-concert activity stations at these fun, high-energy events throughout the season.
As a volunteer at the Seattle Symphony, you'll make a positive impact on the Symphony's operations while enjoying an insider's look at the workings of a professional orchestra.
Active volunteers also enjoy complimentary tickets to select performances throughout the concert season and discounts on single concert ticket purchases, subject to availability. Volunteers also receive special invitations to member social events and Open Rehearsals during the season.
New and renewing volunteers can pay their annual membership dues online quickly and easily. Annual dues cover the expenses of running the volunteer organization, and all excess funds are used to support the Seattle Symphony.
We offer discounted membership dues for seniors (62 and over) and students (21 and over with a valid student ID). If you are joining or renewing with someone who lives at the same address, please select the "household" option below and pay your dues together.
Once you have completed the volunteer application process, you will be able to create a login to VicNet, our online volunteer portal.
All volunteer opportunities are posted and scheduled through VicNet. To access your account, log in to Vicnet by clicking this link and entering your email address. First time users can create a new password by clicking the "password reset" button. The email address you enter must match the one associated with your Seattle Symphony Volunteer account.
Once logged in, you can view and sign up for upcoming opportunities on the schedule page. You can also update your contact information and volunteer preferences, and review your scheduled shifts and service history through this online volunteer portal.
Complimentary and discounted ticket availability is also posted on the VicNet homepage. Check VicNet to see which upcoming concerts have complimentary or discounted tickets available.
