Timothy Garland joined Seattle Symphony in 2005. Having completed his 20th season in 2025, he feels as if he's done enough to finally be considered one of the old guys on stage. In his time playing with the orchestra, he has gained numerous rich musical experiences and has also lost a lot of hair. Outside of music, he enjoys the natural beauty of the Seattle area, volunteers as a Forest Steward for Green Seattle Partnership in Discovery Park and is a somewhat proficient birder. He tries to make as many Seattle Sounders games as his busy symphony schedule allows.
