Mark Robbins

Mark Robbins is Associate Principal Horn with the Seattle Symphony, where he’s been a member since 1981. He also performs as Associate Principal Horn with Seattle Opera. Previously, he performed with the Florida Philharmonic Orchestra in Miami. He is also a longtime member of the Chautauqua Symphony Orchestra, a summer orchestra that performs for two months in Upstate New York. A devoted chamber musician, Robbins has performed with Seattle Chamber Players as well as on the Seattle Symphony’s Chamber Series and in the Orca Concert Series, Orca Concerts’ mainstage chamber music series. He has played at the Spoleto, Tanglewood and Olympic music festivals, appeared on a Seattle Symphony recording featuring Schumann's Konzertstück for Four Horns, and premiered Gina Gillie's Pale Blue Dot for solo horn and fixed media in Octave 9: Raisbeck Music Center. Also an active teacher, Robbins was previously on the faculty at Cornish College for the Arts (now Seattle University), was the horn coach for the Seattle Youth Symphony Orchestra, teaches at the Chautauqua Music Festival and has mentored many music students who went on to have professional careers.
