Trombone
Carson Keeble joined the Seattle Symphony as second trombone in 2024. Over the course of his career, Carson has held positions with The Santa Fe Opera, Colorado Symphony Orchestra, Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra, New Mexico Symphony Orchestra, Pacific Northwest Ballet and Eugene Symphony Orchestra. Additionally, he has performed as a guest with the Cincinnati Symphony, Baltimore Symphony, Rochester Philharmonic, Malaysia Philharmonic, Hawaii Symphony and various other orchestras throughout North America.
Having a passion for chamber music, Carson has been a regular guest with Albuquerque’s Ensemble Music New Mexico. He has also performed in the Seattle Chamber Music Festival, Seattle Symphony’s [untitled] series, and was a member of the Apollo Chamber Brass during his time in Colorado and the New Orleans Uptown Brass Quintet during his time in New Orleans.
Carson has been the trombone instructor at numerous higher education institutions, including Oregon State University, Willamette University, Oklahoma State University, University of Colorado Denver, Tulane University and Xavier University. He holds music degrees from Rice University and Oberlin Conservatory. His primary teachers were David Waters, Raymond Premru, James DeSano, Steve Witser, and Milton Stevens. When not playing trombone, Carson enjoys spending time reading, walking, watching birds, working on house projects, drinking good beer and most of all, hanging out with his partner, Melissa, and feral cat, GrammaCat.
