Alexander White

Alexander White has traversed the globe playing the trumpet, but since the 2015/2016 season, has been the Associate Principal Trumpet of the Seattle Symphony. Previously, White was Associate Principal Trumpet with the Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra (2010–2012), during which he played on several of its recordings with Deutsche Grammophon. From 2012 to 2014, he was Assistant Principal Trumpet with the Seattle Symphony, playing a single season as Principal Trumpet with the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra (2014/2015) before ultimately returning to Seattle. Not confined to orchestral playing alone, White has also enjoyed soloing and playing chamber music. He was the winner of the 2007 International Trumpet Guild Solo Competition and went on to win the 2009 Olga Koussevitztky Young Artist Award Competition (winds division), becoming the first trumpet player in history to make the competition's finals and the first to take home top honors. White was admitted to The Juilliard School in 2004 with Presidential Distinction, where he received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees.
