The Metropolitan Opera Eric and Dominique Laffont Competition begins right here in Washington State, where emerging singers take their first step toward the national spotlight. These District Auditions are the gateway to the Northwest Region—and ultimately to New York City—where competitors may stand on the legendary Metropolitan Opera stage among the most promising young voices in the country.

The Washington District is where rising artists first prove they have what it takes. Winners advance to the Northwest Region Auditions, competing for significant cash prizes and the chance to move on to the national rounds at the Met.
