The Brandee Younger Trio

Harpist and composer Brandee Younger continues to revolutionize the harp’s place in modern music, uniting spiritual jazz and classical grounding with the soulful pulse of R&B and hip hop. The first Black woman ever nominated for a GRAMMY for Best Instrumental Composition, she expands her sonic world with electronic textures, extended techniques and an Afrofuturist palette. This program features new experimental video and still imagery by bassist and collaborator Rashaan Carter alongside visuals created by renowned designer Marissa Wilson for Younger’s latest work, Gadabout Season, first premiered at SFJAZZ in March 2025.
