Meeka Quan DiLorenzo

A member of the Seattle Symphony since 2009, multi-award-winning American cellist Meeka Quan-DiLorenzo, who thrills audiences with playing described as “incredibly nuanced” and “exquisitely beautiful,” made her professional debut at the age of 16 with the Pacific Symphony under the direction of Carl St. Clair, subsequently completing the Young Artist Program and Bachelor of Music degree at the Cleveland Institute of Music under the tutelage of Richard Aaron and Stephen Geber. At the age of 21, she joined the Utah Symphony as Associate Principal Cello, a position she now holds with the Seattle Symphony.

A passionate traveler and avid chamber musician, Quan-DiLorenzo has performed in numerous festivals, including Aspen Music Festival, Kingston Chamber Music Festival, Seattle Chamber Music Society, Sun Valley Summer Symphony, Grand Teton Music Festival, Strings Music Festival and Oregon Bach Festival, and is a regularly featured performer for The Seattle Series.

Recent highlights include a double concerto with Abel Selacoe and the Seattle Symphony, and Tan Dun’s Crouching Tiger Concerto with the Bellingham Symphony.

Quan-DiLorenzo resides in Seattle with her husband, the Emmy Award-winning and Grammy-nominated composer and trumpet soloist Anthony DiLorenzo, and their son, Luca. When not playing the cello or spending time with her family, she can be found swimming in a lake or with her nose in a book.
