Stefan Farkas

Oboist and English hornist Stefan Farkas has been a member of the Seattle Symphony since 2006. Prior to being appointed Principal English Horn in Seattle, Farkas performed in the same capacity with the Houston Symphony. Additionally, Farkas has performed with orchestras such as New York Philharmonic, the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra, the Los Angeles Philharmonic and the Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra, among others. He has also appeared with the Seattle Chamber Music Society. In 2009, he appeared as soloist with the Seattle Symphony in performances of Donizetti’s Concertino for English Horn. Farkas is a graduate of The Juilliard School, with additional studies at the Manhattan School of Music and Indiana University.
