Cameron Daly

Appointed Associate Principal Second Violin of the Seattle Symphony in the 2024/2025 season, Cameron Daly has built a dynamic and varied career.

Formerly the first violinist of the Callisto Quartet, Daly has performed in notable venues worldwide, including the Palazzo Stauffer in Cremona, Italy, the Kaufman Music Center, the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center, the Caramoor Center for Music and the Arts and Belgium’s Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel.

Daly has taught masterclasses at distinguished conservatories such as Rice University’s Shepherd School of Music and the Cleveland Institute of Music. As part of the Callisto Quartet’s residency at the Yale School of Music, Daly taught undergraduate chamber music at Yale College. He has performed as concertmaster and soloist with the Yale Symphony Orchestra, as concertmaster of the Yale Philharmonia and as concertmaster of the Tanglewood Music Center Orchestra, where he led an unconducted performance of Tchaikovsky’s Serenade for Strings. An alumnus of institutes and festivals including Ravinia, Taos, Tanglewood and Aspen, Daly has been fortunate enough to perform chamber music alongside artists including Misha Amory, Ettore Causa, James Ehnes, Jose Franch-Ballester, Benjamin Hochman, Nina Lee, David Shifrin and Miguel da Silva.

Daly holds degrees from Yale College (a Bachelor’s in Global Affairs) as well as the Yale School of Music (a Master’s in Violin Performance), where he was a student of Wendy Sharp, Ani Kavafian and the Brentano Quartet. In addition to his work with the Callisto Quartet, he has previously held positions as a software engineer at Qualtrics, a Seattle-based software company located just across the street from Benaroya Hall, and as a violinist in the Naples Philharmonic and the New Haven Symphony. Daly performs on a modern violin by Andrew Ryan and a bow by Benoît Rolland.
